Artist Statement
Here, understanding does not oppose non-understanding, but opens the space between them.
Neither understanding nor non-understanding determines openness.
Neither openness nor concealment determines understanding.
The same thing can be understood and hidden, not understood and open; open—and yet slipping away from a final grasp.
Form is preserved, but stripped of fixed content.
Meaning arises, shifts, slips away—and returns in another direction.
The central line is positioned between two five-line blocks. It can be read before or after each of the five lines above and below it. It does not conclude one block nor definitely begin another: it opens a transition between them. Therefore, meaning does not belong to a single line and is not fixed by a single reading order.
What seems to be an end can become a beginning.
What seems to be an answer can once again become a question.
Depth remains.
That is why non-understanding here is not the absence of understanding, but the space in which understanding continues to occur.
Emptiness does not destroy form.
It liberates it from the necessity of being finally understood.

Understanding Non-Understanding
This artwork is the visual manifestation of a multilingual linguistic matrix—a topological poem structured in a 5-1-5 formation. The canvas mirrors this conceptual space, its quadrants divided by a permeable central axis.
Understanding does not oppose non-understanding; it opens the space between them. The same thing may be understood and hidden, not understood and open, slipping from our final grasp. Form remains, stripped of fixed content. Meaning arises, shifts, and escapes.
In the text, a central line lies between two five-line blocks. It can be read before or after any line above or below it. It neither concludes one block nor begins another: it opens a passage. Meaning is never fixed by a single reading order. What seems an end may become a beginning.
Depth remains. Non-understanding is not the absence of understanding, but the space where it occurs. Emptiness does not destroy form; it frees it from being finally understood.
